About Rich and his BBQ Sauces

My name is Richard Flax. I have worked over 30 years in the restaurant business as a Chef and Restaurant owner. In 1990, I made the first batch of the Rich and Spicy BBQ Sauce. My friends immediately began to rave about the sauce and were telling me that it was better than what was in the stores. After years of selling it to friends and family I decided to do something about it and began bottling my BBQ Sauces for distribution.

You can find my sauce in many stores in the throughout Minnesota as well as parts of Wisconsin. Check out the Where to Buy page for locations near you! If you can't find a store close to you contact me and we can figure out the best way to get you some sauce.

My sauces have received acclaim from both customers and other restaurant owners all over. My sauces also have won awards: In 2008 the Rich and Spicy Down Under Kickin' BBQ Sauce placed 2^nd in the American Royal BBQ Sauce Contest In Kansas City in the Specialty category. My Blackberry Chipotle sauce won 1^st place in Albert Lea, MN earlier this year as well!
